Catarseed is an emerging, founder-led platform connecting institutional finance with the working-capital realities of agricultural cooperatives and family farmers in Brazil.

We support communities in modernizing agricultural infrastructure, replanting resilient varieties, and diversifying farm income - strengthening local livelihoods, revitalizing rural communities, and expanding access to finance for farmers underserved by the financial system, while accelerating the agroecological transition.

At Catarseed, capital follows diagnosis, never the reverse

We mobilize purpose-driven finance across priority agricultural regions of Brazil to equip family farmers in building low-carbon, climate-resilient farming systems

How

Grounded Systemic Diagnostics: Before structuring financial instruments or deploying capital, we conduct deep, field-level territorial assessments built on sustained presence and trusted relationships with local farming communities - fostering the multi-actor coordination required for financial mechanisms to work effectively.

Why

Traditional finance has struggled to serve family farmers at scale and on terms suited to rural realities. Catarseed addresses this gap through purpose-driven finance that puts the needs of the territory before the financial instrument itself. It recognizes that capital alone — regardless of its source — cannot transform a system if the structures and incentives governing its allocation remain extractive.

We go beyond supporting family farmers and agricultural SMEs — including farmer cooperatives — we intervene in the financial architecture that shapes their incentives. By combining access to credit with tailored technical assistance and deep territorial engagement, we help create the conditions for the agroecological transition to become economically viable, durable, and locally driven.
